| 17 years ago we met and brought
home our first Spanish Mustang. One became many, a fellow Spanish Mustanger
bestowed upon us the name Many Ponies, our journey had begun! What is a Spanish Mustang? Horses of the Old West who changed the course of history in this country. Mounts of the Indians, mountain men, cowboys and settlers. Originating from Spanish horses, developed by man and nature thru their history in this country. Thru the efforts of early dedicated horsemen, it was recognized that the tough horses of the early west were worth preserving. The first registry dedicated to saving the Spanish Mustang was founded in 1957. Today there are a number of registries and dedicated admirers involved in promotion and preservation efforts. Here at Many Ponies Our breeding program focuses primarily on developing horses of using ability with intelligence and great dispositions. Spanish Mustangs are unique in their rainbow of colors, many of our horses are of painted patterns, including rare medicine hats. Size of 14 to 15 hands with a Spanish Mustang's naturally sound feet and legs are attributes we greatly value. While our focus is ranch and trail horses, Spanish Mustangs also are proving themselves in Endurance riding, parades, gymkhanas, and various of the English disciplines. |
